We describe a novel fiber-optic technique for measuring distributed strain and temperature that uses a coherent optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) with a precisely frequency-controlled light source. When it comes to OTDR in Malaysia we talk about using certain techniques, we achieved temperature measurements in an that are more then satisfactory and a spatial resolution of one meter. This temperature resolution is two orders of magnitude better than that provided by the Brillouin based sensing technique.

OTDR in Malaysia is a fully distributed optical fiber vibration sensor is demonstrated based on spectrum analysis of Polarization-OTDR system. Without performing any data averaging, vibration disturbances is successfully demonstrated in a 1km fiber link with 10m spatial resolution. The FFT is performed at each spatial resolution; the relation of the disturbance at each frequency component versus location allows detection of multiple events simultaneously with different and the same frequency components.
